Nicole Hockley chose to transform unspeakable grief and anguish into action after her youngest son, Dylan, was murdered in his first-grade classroom during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy on December 14, 2012. As the co-founder and CEO of Sandy Hook Promise (SHP), Nicole works every day to protect children from gun and school violence.

SHP educates and empowers youth and adults to prevent violence in schools, homes, and communities. The national nonprofit organization's proven, evidence-informed “Know the Signs” programs and sensible, bipartisan school and gun safety legislation help teach young people and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others.

Led by Hockley, SHP’s award-winning campaigns and innovative technology have engaged more than 8 million in The Promise to protect kids. 18+ million have participated in the organization’s programs across more than 23,000 schools. More than 120,000 tips have been anonymously reported, saving hundreds of lives from suicide, preventing at least 80 of acts of violence with a weapon, and averting at least 11 credible planned school shooting attacks.

Watch this 3-minute overview, Make the Promise, to learn more about their life-saving work.

We invite you to join us for an intimate gathering of technology, media, and philanthropic leaders, as we learn from Hockley and consider how we can help amplify their mission. The conversation will explore the research informing the organization’s strategic initiatives, the compelling creative campaigns that have inspired continued action and engagement, and how the organization is scaling  to reach communities across the country.

We hope you can join us for this engaging evening of conversation, commitment, and action.
